Ashley is ONE!

Kaylie wanted to plan Ashley's birthday party. According to her you are supposed to wear costumes to all parties. She insisted on wearing one even though no one else did. Dad got her an equestrian outfit when they went to buy Ashley's present! She wore it the entire time. I'll have to get a picture of it to post later....Just got a lot of pictures of Ashley!

Kaylie picked out the cake! We borrowed the castle pan from the neighbors and it was cherry chip with vanilla frosting and a whole bunch of sprinkles.
Mmmmm that tastes pretty good!

I can't believe Ashley is already one year old! She had a lot of fun at her birthday party on Saturday with our family. She really liked her cake!

Fun with extended family!

Me and Ruth
Julia and I
Ruth, Julia and I
Me, Margaret, Ruth, Kaylie and Ashley
I got to go and hang out with my favorite Aunts and my cousin Julia this weekend! We didn't do much but we had a delicious lunch and just hung out. I loved seeing them! I just wish I could see them more often. Ruth and Julia you better find a race for us to do! Love you guys!

Enchanted

This may sound a little cheesy but I have to say it. I love our new prophet President Thomas S. Monson! I am Enchanted by him! He is soooo funny and he keeps such a stone face while telling his jokes which makes the story even funnier! However, my favorite part about his talk from Sunday morning was his concise, directed manner in which he simply stated that we are in a raging war against sin, BUT righteousness will prevail. The good guys will win. It was so refreshing to hear him tell us to focus on the good things. I get so caught up in all the gloom and doom in the world and the bad news that I forget that goodness really does exist! My husband makes fun of me because all of my favorite movies are kids movies with happily ever afters! Guess what, I will get my happily ever after! Just like Enchanted, Cinderella........the list could go on and on I will get my happily ever after. It will be a rocky road but I'm going to do everything I can to make sure I get there. I look at my sweet little girls and watch Kaylie's delighted face as she watches her happily ever after movies and am happy to know that we are on the winning side of this war! I love my savior Jesus Christ and am so grateful for his atoning sacrifice. What a wonderful weekend full of inspiring messages from such great and honorable men and women.

Apple Core...

So Ashley is our little garbage disposal. Kaylie will eat as much of an apple as she wants and then pass it on to Ashley. Not only does Ashley love it, she will NOT let anyone take it from her. She'll take a few bites and then clutch it firmly to her chest if anyone gets too close. So funny!
