I'm sure everyone has played one version or another of the I spy game when driving in the car. Kaylie and I always make sure to look for a bus, truck or a police car when we are out and about. Today I told her that we should look for a mini van. The imagination of a two year old is truly remarkable. She got this sad tone and said mom I think the "mini man" is crying for his mama! I laughed so hard. I could just imagine her looking for some "little person" (to be PC) walking down the street. Visions of The Wizard of Oz and the Lollipop kids were the first to come to mind!

I mentioned earlier that Kaylie was a flower girl for Jeff's cousin's wedding. We are so happy to have Lindsee as part of our extended family. Congratulations Lindsee and Trevor! The reception was gorgeous and so was the bride! Of course the flower girls were cute too! They all had a little silver basket filled with starbursts to pass out to the guests. Kaylie, however, ate most of hers! One really neat thing that they had was a kid's buffet along with the regular one. They had zoo pals plates, sippy cups with apple juice, peanut butter and jam sandwiches, apple slices with a little bit of caramel drizzled over them, jello jigglers and string cheese. It was great, a lot of the adults were hitting the kids buffet (myself included).

A Fallen Brother
Today the Law Enforcement Officers of Utah were saddened to learn of the murder of a fellow brother. A senseless tragedy took place in our back yard. Stephen Anderson a 22 year veteran of the Utah Department of Corrections was overtaken by career criminal Curtis Allgier. Allgier was able to wrestle a gun from him and as Anderson realized he had been bested, Allgier shot him in the back of the head. These are the times that try our spirits. The hearts of not only his family but also the hearts of all those who knew him will mourn his loss. I hope and pray that we never lose sight of the fact that there are those out there who are willing to stand in harms way. They do it for very little pay and with very little thanks. Nonetheless they are willing to do this so that your family and their own can sleep at night with a knowledge that someone is watching, and that if you would call that someone would be there. God bless the sheepdog and their ever watchful eyes.

Kaylie's sparkly shoes
Kaylie was a flower girl for Jeff's cousin's wedding so we took her to the store to get her some shoes to wear with her dress. She has been growing so fast that we can hardly keep shoes on her so we bought them really big. However, I think this will be the first pair of shoes that she actually wears out before they get too small. We can't get them off of her! The worst part about it is she wears them without socks, of course because it's summer, and her feet smell soooooooooooo bad! What do you do?

Barbecue
Okay, so this is my attempt at creating a blog. I frequently visit the Butler's and Lesue's blogs and they are fabulous! I am a bit nervous to do this as I am not a great writer and I'm not particularly funny but last night we had a little get together with some friends of ours and they encouraged me to just start one. We ate dinner, hamburgers, hot dogs...and all the other normal foods at a barbecue but then Jeff came out with his new tree lounge tree climber. He kept telling everyone that he wanted to find a tree to climb. None of us knew what he had in mind since none of us had ever seen one of these apparatuses before but we all ventured out into the front yard to look at the trees on the street. Jeff found the one he wanted to climb but didn't dare ask the neighbors so I went in the house and called them on the phone and said, "Do you mind if my husband climbs your tree"? Sounds pretty ridiculous doesn't it? Usually I would ask a neighbor if I could borrow an egg or something but we don't really know these neighbors very well anyway so it was a little awkward but they were nice and said yes. So here are some pictures of our little activity in case any of you wonder, like we did, what a tree lounge is!
